Júlíanna Ósk Hafberg (b. 1992) is a visual artist based in Reykjavík, Iceland. She has a broad and diverse creative background with a BA in clothing design and textiles, and a creative project management degree from Kaospilot, Denmark. Currently she studies at The Academy of the Arts Iceland towards a MFA in Fine Art. Her diverse material knowledge allows her to explore freely, weave together different mediums and ideology and push the boundaries of certain fields. She approaches this unique diversity with playfulness and curiosity, often resulting in exciting ideas and pieces of work. Júlíanna’s work builds on the foundation of radical softness, vulnerability and feminine energies. She uses playfulness to explore and weave together many different mediums in her pieces, from painting, drawing and textile to woodworking, glass cutting and poetry. Her work is there to evoke feelings of lightness, abundance and care and to make space for emotions and thoughts in an often harsh and fast paced world that we live in today’s society.
